Exercise Details

Duration = at least 30 minutes.

Step 1

Select and describe the situation that you're asking to help you with.

This should not necessarily be a negative situation. It's just as powerful to ask for help in an area where things are going great.

Part A: Focus on the flavor of the current situation you identified in Step 1. You might include such details as the following examples:
  • How are you being? If your state of mind was a color or an image, what would it be? How does it feel?
  • How are other people—or your surroundings—being? What does that feel like?
  • Focus only on your current situation at the present time and on specific people, attitudes, or aspects of life at the present time.
Avoid writing about the future, whether you fear it or it excites you. Just describe the current situation.

Step 4


Let go of the topic completely. If your mind is in problem-solving mode, worry mode, reading-the-computer-screen mode, rushing-around mode, creativity mode, or any other kind of "mode," you haven't reached inner silence. Inner silence means bare attention—mindfulness without thought or reaction.

Trust the process.

Move on to Step 5 after you have completely let go of your reactions.

Before seeking out your Place of Power, search around with your intuition for the most probable or predictable future that you can sense.

Focus on the flavor of this predictable future. Record what you sense about your most probable future.

Part A: Search around with your intuition for another possible future that you can sense.

Be patient, and wait for your intuition to speak. Wait until your intuition has presented a future that gives you the greatest sense of personal power.

Your intuition about this future is your secret door to a place of power. Focus on the flavor of this future.

Close your eyes to increase your focus.

Write "I choose..." and make choices about your situation, based on what you've learned.

Repeat several times, surrounding each choice with inner silence. Click the "I choose... button after every choice you make.

Send Energy to when You Ask for Help



What are you most likely to ask for help about? What kind of help do you require? In this exercise, you'll probe around with your intuition to find a door into a possibility that you choose, rather than one that fate delivered to you.

Once you've visualized this unpredictable future, you'll energize it with guided chi breathing. Then you'll send your energized picture of the future you desire to and also send along energy you've collected through breathing.

This honors and creates a stronger relationship that supports a deeper connection between you. For this reason, this exercise guides you through a series of steps for energy breathing, visualization, and inner silence. Optional: Increase the amount of energy you send through the use of Ujjayi Breathing (or the Ocean Breath), which sounds a little like Darth Vader breathing.

Preferences: This exercise uses language that works for you. Set your preference for how this exercise identifies who you talk to when you ask for help.
